The Ottoman Empire

   The Ottoman Empire had existed in Europe for many long years.  It started as Mesopotamia, went on the be Persia, Parthia and eventually the Empire.

   The days of German revival were the days of Ottoman disintegration.  The Empire was losing its boundaries, and the Russian and Austrian-Hungarian Empires were eager to benefit over their neighbors' demise.  For this reason, the Ottoman Empire was known as 'the sick man of Europe'. 

   Come World War I, the Ottoman Empire joined the Central Powers in an opportunity to regain some of the lost power.  This was a mistake.  The Empire was in no condition to conduct a war, and suffered.  Being on the losing side, it was broken up during reparations.  That marked the final end to the Empire.
